Custom domains

Serve the widget from your own domain with a custom CNAME, configured for you by our team on request.

Why a custom domain

By default the widget loads from agents.dante-ai.com. Pointing it at your own subdomain (e.g. chat.northwind.com or support.bluebird-bakery.com) keeps everything visitor-facing on your brand, helps with content-security-policy rules, and avoids third-party cookie warnings on some browsers.

How to set one up

Custom domains are not self-serve. There is no page in the app where you can add and verify a domain yourself, and no plan lists one as an included feature. To set one up, contact our team with the subdomain you want and we will see what we can configure for you, including exactly which DNS record to add. We will confirm once it is live.

What to have ready before you get in touch:

Pick a subdomain. Most operators choose chat., support., or ai., for example chat.northwind.com.
Check you can edit DNS for that domain, or know who can. You will need to add one CNAME record.
Update your embed snippet once we confirm the domain is live. Repasting the snippet is the only change needed on your site.

Give DNS time to propagate. Once the CNAME is added it can take up to 24 hours to resolve everywhere, though it is usually much quicker. If your widget still loads from the default host after that, send us the domain and we will check the record with you.
