Web search

Dante agents answer strictly from the knowledge you give them. They do not browse or search the live web.

Does my agent search the web?

No. Every Dante agent runs in knowledge-base-only mode. It answers using the sources you add to its knowledge (your website crawl, uploaded files, text snippets, and Q&A pairs) together with the current conversation. It does not pull live results from the public internet.

This is the same on every plan:

Why agents stay inside your knowledge

Grounding every answer in your own content keeps replies accurate, on-brand, and free of made-up or off-topic information. If a visitor asks about something that is not in your knowledge, the agent tells them it does not have that information rather than guessing or pulling an unverified answer from the open web.

Note: This is intentional and applies to all agents. There is no setting to let an agent answer from general internet knowledge.

When the answer is not there yet

If visitors keep asking about a topic your agent cannot answer, add that topic to its knowledge. The agent uses the new content on its next reply. Go to Knowledge and choose the source that fits:
