Contacts
Everyone who has talked to any of your agents, in one place, with their leads attached.
You will find this page in the app under Contacts in the left-hand rail. It lists every person who has talked to one of your agents or left their details, whichever agent they used and whichever channel they came in on.
One person, not one conversation
A contact belongs to your workspace rather than to a single agent. If the same person talks to your support agent on Monday and your sales agent on Friday, that is one contact with both conversations behind it, not two entries that happen to share an email address.
People are matched on an exact email address or phone number. Someone who has only ever chatted anonymously still gets a contact, listed as an anonymous visitor, and joins up with the rest of their history the moment they leave an email or a phone number.
Finding someone
The search box matches on name, email or phone, and it matches on part
of any of them, so you do not need the whole address. Searching
acme finds everyone at @acme.com.
The list is ordered by when you last heard from someone, so the people currently talking to you are at the top.
The contact record
Opening a contact shows their email and phone, where they first came in, when you first and last heard from them, and every lead they have submitted with the fields your form captured.
If two records turn out to be the same person, they are combined. Open either one afterwards and you land on the combined record, with a note saying so, rather than a dead link.
Contacts and leads are not the same thing
A lead is one form submission: a moment when someone gave you their details in a chat. A contact is the person. One contact can have several leads, and a contact can exist with no leads at all if they have only chatted.
The Leads page shows submissions for a single agent. This page shows the people, across all of them.
What you can do here today
This first version is for reading: finding a person and seeing everything you know about them in one place. Editing contacts, combining them by hand and importing your existing list are coming, and we would rather ship the part you can use now than wait.
