These docs describe the current Dante AI platform. On the earlier platform? Your API reference is api-v2.dante-ai.com/openapi.json, and your key goes in the x-api-key header.
Delete your account
Permanently remove your account and everything in it. Here is exactly what happens, and how to come back.
Open your profile in the app →
Account deletion is available on every plan: Free Starter Advanced Pro.
How to delete your account
- Open the user menu in the top right and choose Profile & Settings.
- Scroll to the Delete account card at the bottom of the page.
- Click Delete my account.
- In the dialog, type your email address to confirm, then click Delete account.
Your email has to match the address on your account, so the action cannot be triggered by accident.
What gets removed
Deleting your account immediately and permanently removes everything you own:
- Every workspace you own, and every agent inside it.
- Knowledge sources, uploaded files, and the AI search index behind your agents.
- All conversations, messages, and captured leads.
- Your invoices, add-ons, and any remaining credits.
- Invitations you sent, and your teammates' access to the workspaces you own.
- Every API key you created, wherever you created it. Those keys stop working immediately.
- Every calendar account you connected, wherever you connected it. This clears the stored booking access for that calendar.
You are signed out on every device right away. Your refresh tokens are revoked, so you cannot sign back in.
If you are a member of someone else's workspace, deleting your account removes your own access there. It does not delete their workspace, their agents, or their data.
Two things do follow you out of a workspace you do not own: API keys you created, and calendar accounts you connected. Both are tied to you personally, so both are removed when your account goes. If you connected the calendar an agent books against, someone else in that workspace needs to reconnect it from Integrations.
Your seat in their workspace is the only thing that disappears. Teammates you invited keep theirs.
If a teammate deletes their account
If you own a workspace and someone on your team deletes their Dante account, you are not notified, so it is worth knowing what changes on your side:
- Their seat is freed. Everyone else, including anyone they invited, keeps their access.
- Your workspace, agents, knowledge, conversations and leads are all untouched.
- Any API key they created stops working. If one of those keys was powering an integration of yours, create a replacement from API.
- If they were the one who connected your calendar, booking stops working until someone in the workspace reconnects it from Integrations.
The last two are the ones that catch people out. If your agent takes bookings, or you rely on an API key someone else created, connect those under an account you control rather than a teammate's.
Changing your mind
Everything you own is removed straight away, but the account itself stays recoverable.
While your account is deleted you cannot log in. Signing in with your old password is rejected, and the password reset flow will not send a code for a deleted account, so resetting your password is not a way back in.
To come back, sign up again with the same email address. This revives your account: the deletion is cleared, the new password you choose at signup becomes your password, and we send a fresh verification code to your email. Once you verify, you start fresh with a brand new, empty workspace. The agents and data you deleted do not come back.
If the verification code does not arrive within a minute or two, check your spam folder first. You can also simply submit the signup form again with the same email: while your account is still unverified this resends a fresh code (it will not create a duplicate account), and the password you type on that latest attempt is the one that counts.
Delete account vs other options
- Just want to stop paying? Downgrade or cancel from Billing and keep your data on the Free plan.
- Want to remove a single AI agent but keep your account? Use Delete this AI agent on that agent's Security page instead.
