Billing
View invoices, update your payment method, and manage your subscription.
What you can do
- Download any invoice as a PDF from your billing history.
- Add or update the card on file. Stripe stores it, we never see the number.
- Update your billing email and tax or VAT ID in the billing portal.
- See your next renewal date and the amount.
- See every active add-on as its own line on the invoice ($50 Remove Branding, $50 Human Handover, $20 Extra Agent, $20 Extra Credits).
Card, billing email, and tax details are managed in the Stripe billing portal, which opens from Settings → Billing → Manage billing.
Adding or updating your card
Open Settings → Billing and find the Payment method card. If a card is already on file, the Update button opens the Stripe portal so you can replace it. If you are on a paid plan with no card on file, an Add payment method button appears instead and opens Stripe so you can add one.
Either way you enter the card on Stripe's secure page, so we never see the number. Adding or updating a card on file does not start or change a charge by itself, it just stores the card for your next renewal.
Reading an invoice
Each invoice lists your plan plus any active add-ons as separate lines, so the total always matches what you see on the Plans page.
We never prorate. Upgrading mid-cycle, say Starter to Advanced, starts a fresh billing period that day and charges the full new-plan price up front. There is no part-month credit for the time left on your old plan, and no negative or proration lines on the invoice. Your new plan and its message credits go live within seconds.
Downgrades carry no mid-cycle charge at all. You keep your current plan until the period ends, then the next renewal simply bills the lower price.
Receipts
Stripe emails a receipt to your billing email after every successful charge. Set the billing email in the billing portal if you want receipts to land somewhere other than the Owner's login email.
When a payment fails
If a renewal charge fails, your account switches to read-only right away. You can still sign in and view everything, but editing agents, knowledge, and settings is paused until billing is fixed.
Your live agents keep answering visitors the whole time. A failed payment never takes your chatbot offline.
Stripe retries the charge automatically over the next few days and we email you a reminder each time. Updating the card clears read-only mode and restores full editing access immediately.
If every retry fails, the subscription is cancelled and your workspace drops to Free. Your monthly message credits reset to the Free allowance and any add-ons switch off. No data is deleted, and you can resubscribe at any time.
Cancellation
Cancelling from the Plans page moves you to Free on the next renewal. No data is deleted. You keep your paid features (advanced styling, Human Handover, Remove Branding, auto-update knowledge) until the period ends. If you change your mind, you can reactivate before the renewal date and stay on your current paid plan.
Stuck? We're here.
Every plan, including Free, comes with human support. If something isn't behaving the way you expect after following the steps above, send us a note and we'll get back to you within one business day.
