Step 1 - Set-up

Customizing your AI chatbot's details allows you to create a welcoming and engaging user experience from the first interaction. In this section, you will learn how to set up your AI chatbot's initial welcome message to greet users, manage suggested prompts, and adjust additional functions to tailor the AI chatbot's interface.

1. To edit your AI chatbot’s details, select the AI chatbot you want to customize and click on Set-up from the Customize drop-down menu on the left sidebar of your dashboard.  

As you customize the AI chatbot, the changes will go live on the right-hand side.

How to edit your AI chatbot’s welcome message

The default welcome message users see when starting a conversation with the AI chatbot is: 👋 "Hi, how can I help you?" You can replace this initial greeting with your own message.

Show or hide suggested prompts

To show or hide suggested prompts, just toggle the option on/off

How to edit your AI chatbot’s initial suggested prompts

Edit your initial suggested prompts to guide users in starting a conversation with your AI chatbot. These prompts help users understand what questions your AI chatbot can answer. You can add, amend, or delete suggested prompts as needed to improve the user experience.

Examples of initial suggested prompts:

• What does Dante AI do?
• How can I integrate Dante AI into my business?
• Can you help me understand Dante AI's features?

To manage the initial suggested prompts, toggle on suggested prompts and edit the theme on the drop-down fields.

Show welcome messages as tooltip

If you want your initial message to appear from the chat bubble before the user opens it, select the below option.

With the tooltip option enabled:

Only show suggested prompts onc

The suggested prompts in your AI chatbot change throughout the conversation depending on the interaction with the user. If you want the suggested prompts to disappear after the user's initial interaction with your AI chatbot, select the following option.

Remove Watermark

This option is only available on the Premium and Ultra plans. To remove the Dante AI branding, select the following option.

Show microphone

If you select this option, your users will see a microphone button. They can press it to speak their queries instead of typing them.

Open chat by default

To open the chat bubble by default when the website loads, select the following option.

Show play button

To show the option to play messages as spoken voice, select the following option.

Show email details

The email button allows users to enter their email address to receive a copy of the chat transcript after their conversation with your AI chatbot. To hide the email icon, select this option.

How to change the input placeholder text

The default input placeholder text currently says "Write your message," but you can customize this to say whatever you prefer. This allows you to guide users on what to type into the chat input field in a way that aligns with your brand's tone and style.

To customize the placeholder text, type your text into the Input placeholder box.

How to add a disclaimer text

You can toggle on the disclaimer and then input the text for your AI chatbot. HTML links can also be included here to provide additional information or references.
